What Is Paintball?

paintball

Paintball is a competitive team sport in which players eliminate opponents by shooting them with spherical dye-filled gelatin capsules known as paintballs. The game is governed by rules specified before the game begins.

The basic goal is to win a specific game mode, usually capture the flag or elimination. Alternatively, teams can choose to take on a scenario where they must defend or protect an object or person.

Variants of paintball include woodsball, which is played in a natural environment, speedball, which is played on smaller fields and scenario paintball, in which players attempt to recreate historical or fictional settings. Professional paintball teams have their own names in different leagues and may or may not use sponsors to finance their games, depending on franchising issues.
