Paintball is a team sport that involves shooting round, paint-filled pellets at opponents on designated playing fields. Players wear protective gear to guard against being hit by the balls, which can be very painful if they penetrate exposed skin. It is a fast-paced, exciting sport that requires intelligence and determination rather than brute strength and speed. It has become one of the world’s most popular outdoor participatory sports.
During a game, players shoot at opposing teams in an attempt to eliminate them or capture their flag. The first team to achieve their objective wins. The game is played in teams of 10 or more, and games usually last from 20 to 45 minutes. Between games, players take breaks to check their equipment and refill their hoppers with more paintballs.
Before each game, all participants must attend a safety briefing given by our trained marshals. They will guide them to their game zone and explain the rules of play. Players are not allowed to touch each other or make physical contact during a game. Players ejected from the field for violating a safety or game rule may not return to play until they have been cleared by a referee.
When you are on the move, try to stay low and run with your knees bent. This will make you smaller and more difficult to spot. Also, remember that it is always better to conserve your ammunition, so don’t fire indiscriminately. Taking someone out from behind cover can be a very satisfying feeling, but it is important to be careful and aim carefully. If you can, shoot at a player’s neck height or lower, as this will ensure a hit and not splatter.
