What is Paintball?

Paintball is a team sport where teams shoot paintballs at each other. It can be played on either indoor or outdoor fields.

The sport started in the early 1980s in New Hampshire. Two friends, Charles Gaines and Bob Gurnsey, were looking for a way to have fun. They came up with the idea of shooting marking guns at each other.

These two men, armed with a gas operated marker, shot paintballs at each other in an effort to survive. In the process, they invented the game of paintball.

Paintballs are spherical, dye-filled gelatin capsules. When they hit an opponent, they break. As they do, they release a dye, which marks them as an enemy.

Players must be aware of the rules and be able to follow them. Some of the most common objectives in paintball are capture the flag, attack and defend, and total annihilation.

Most games last between ten and thirty minutes, depending on the type of game. However, scenario play can last longer.

There are many different styles of paintball. Pods, plastic containers, are a common accessory. They are typically made of flip-open lids, but they can also be belt loop pod packs.

Players are divided into teams based on skill. You can be a beginner or a pro. Each player is required to carry safety equipment such as barrel-blocking safety equipment and protective masks.

A player should also call “Paint Check” when they cannot determine whether a ball broke or not. If the player is unsure, the closest player should come and check the player’s position.
