Paintball is a sport in which participants use paintball guns to shoot one another. It is popular for youth, families and corporate events. It’s a team-building activity where intelligence and determination are more important than athletic ability or physical size.
Game Rules and Variations
There are a wide range of game variations, including flag capturing, opponents’ elimination, ammunition limits, defending/attacking a specific point or area, and capturing objects of interest concealed in the playing field. In most variations, the basic goal is to avoid being shot and marked by an opponent’s paintball.
Players should never remove their facemask for any reason during the course of play. A face mask can protect players from the sting of a paintball or from other unforeseen impacts such as arrows, knives, and spears.
Dressing for Paintball
Players usually wear camouflage clothing to help them blend in with their surroundings and prevent being spotted by opponents. They should also wear a helmet and other minimum protection gear, such as a protective mask or goggles.
Choosing a Paintball Gun
The type of paintball marker you purchase will depend on your preference for game types and your experience level. Ideally, you will want a marker that is compatible with your local field’s game modes. For example, if you’re a Mil-Sim player, you’ll want to pick a gun that can handle that type of playing style. If you’re more interested in speedball, you’ll want a marker that is suitable for that style of play as well.
