Paintball – A Sport For All Ages and Genders

A sport that is enjoyed by all ages and genders, paintball involves teams or individuals competing against each other to eliminate opponents by shooting them with a non-toxic, water based paint filled pellet fired from a compressed gas powered gun known as a marker. The game is played on wooded or natural field settings and requires stealth, concealment, and teamwork to succeed. It is a great way to exercise, socialize with friends and enjoy the outdoors.

The game of paintball can be very intense and requires good physical condition to perform at the highest level. Intelligence and determination, more so than strength or speed are the main traits of a star paintballer. There is something very special about the ability of a player to appear out of nowhere and completely change the course of a game by taking advantage of some unforseen circumstance. It’s a little like being a chess master, but with more shooting.

Players wear masks, goggles, and gloves to protect themselves from being hit with the paintballs. They also carry a gun called a marker that holds the paintballs and fires them on command. The gun can be operated in several different firing modes depending on the skill level of the player.

The most important thing to remember about playing paintball is to play within the safety rules and the boundaries of the fields. Referees are on hand to enforce the rules and ejection from a game or the field is immediate for breaking any safety or playing rule.
